What is natural sort?

Natural sort treats embedded numbers as numbers instead of characters. So file2, file10, file1 naturally sorts to file1, file2, file10 (not file1, file10, file2 as in pure alphabetical).

How does numeric sort handle non-numbers?

Lines that don't parse as numbers sort to the end (ascending) or start (descending), preserving their relative order.

Is case sensitivity the default?

No. By default, case is ignored so "apple" and "Apple" compare equal. Toggle case sensitivity to put uppercase letters before lowercase in A-Z order.
